Reflection Family Interventions provides effective and compassionate family intervention services, empowering you and your family to confront substance use, mental health challenges, dual diagnosis, and their effects on the well-being of loved ones and make an actionable plan for change. Each of our intervention programs includes personalized case management and evidence-based care, with dedicated professionals ready to help you and your family navigate crisis and embrace the skills and support necessary for lasting change.

How Our Family Intervention Services Support Mental Health and Substance Use Recovery

We provide nationwide family intervention services, working with families, spouses, and parents of adults to explore the impact of substance use and mental health disorders on the health of a loved one and the entire family unit. Each intervention is personalized to address unique challenges and needs, assess risk, and provide the best possible support and education to address their lasting effects on health and family dynamics. This is all done while fostering understanding and unity in the face of addiction, mental illness, or dual diagnosis

Our programs include a planning process to understand your unique situation, a three-day intervention plan, and six months of follow-up coaching. We continue to work with your family, providing resources and education, and making adjustments to celebrate a loved one’s journey and foster care and understanding at home. This kind of support also helps families update treatment plans and perspectives as new milestones are reached, reflecting this new, unified healing journey.

We are committed to genuine change, meeting you where you are to create a plan as you and your family take this first important step. With nationwide availability through both in-person intervention and virtual telehealth services, you have access to a professional when you need it most. We also work with families to prepare remotely before beginning the in-person intervention, with time dedicated to answering questions, helping families learn about the process, and approaching the situation with compassion and confidence.

Nothing about addressing mental health disorders or addiction is easy, and an intervention is an incredibly emotionally-charged time. Effective and compassionate interventions can connect your family and loved one to the most appropriate mental health services, substance use treatment, and behavioral health provider. We are not associated with any other treatment facility. We can provide referrals and support based on the options that make the most sense for your loved one and situation without outside influences.

A Structured, Family-Centered Intervention Program

Addiction and mental health disorders can be devastating to an individual’s personal health, physical health, and mental well-being. However, the effects of addiction and mental health disorders are never truly confined to a single person. Family-focused care and a structured, family-centered program can empower the entire family system to commit to this healing journey together.

What Is a Family Intervention Program?

A family intervention program is an organized, compassionate, and structured program where friends, family members, and professionals work together to confront the challenges presented by addiction and mental health disorders in a loved one.

Despite media portrayals, these are intended to provide support and encourage sympathy, not confrontational ambushes or opportunities to air grievances or accusations. These programs are meant to empower families to come together in a unified approach to healing and understanding, to learn about the challenges a loved one faces, and even embrace their roles as supports.

A family intervention is also just the first step in a long healing process for the entire family. This process not only helps a loved one get the treatment they need, but also provides support and care for family members as each person reaches new milestones, explores forgiveness and change, and embraces new lifestyles in the healing process.

Our 3-Day Professional Intervention Model

Each program includes a planning period with family members to better understand your unique situation before beginning a three-day professional intervention model.

These three days are structured to provide support and education, and to facilitate an open and honest conversation. Professionals monitor this conversation to ensure that families and loved ones feel heard, understood, and that the message is honest and fair. Interventions can be on-site or virtual, but are always led by trained interventionists who have developed a unique approach to your specific situations.

Our programs are designed to empower a loved one to pursue change and secure admission into appropriate care, from detox or counseling services to ongoing psychotherapy options for individuals and families alike.

6 Months of Family Recovery Coaching

This three-day intervention is not the end of healing. Rather, we continue to support change by providing ongoing support to family members, including six months of recovery coaching to continue addressing new challenges. This includes weekly coaching calls, professional education, and family counseling, along with ongoing follow-up programs to explore communication skills, accountability, and to avoid enabling behaviors.

Helping Families Navigate Substance Use,
Mental Health, and Crisis Situations

There is never a single approach to an intervention or change. We work with families to understand the unique challenges, risks, and needs of individuals and their families, providing effective care for family needs, crisis intervention, and more to address substance use, mental illness, or dual diagnosis.

Families Supporting a Loved One with Substance Use

Overcoming substance abuse starts with identifying the substances that are impacting daily life. We offer intervention services to address alcohol, opioids, stimulants, and more. We are also prepared to help address the use of multiple substances in tandem, known as polysubstance use.

No part of overcoming any addiction is easy, especially when multiple substances may be impacting life and wellness in different ways. Access to an educated, trained professional, compassionate social workers, and resources can all help your family begin this process together.

Mental Health and Dual Diagnosis Support

We can also help structure family intervention services and education for addressing mental health needs, including depression, anxiety, paranoia, and much more, and are prepared to work with you to explore dual diagnoses. Dual diagnosis programs address both addiction and mental health disorders simultaneously, personalizing each program to reflect each person’s unique needs.

Complex Family Needs and Crisis Situations

We approach each situation with care and compassion, providing professional care while navigating complicated and delicate situations. From addressing failure-to-launch in adolescents to anger management, navigating high-conflict households, and managing needs in times of crisis, our professionals are available to help your family take your next step forward together.

What to Expect During the Intervention Process

Interventions can be an incredibly emotionally-charged time. Working with a professional and knowing what to expect can help families stay on message and increase the chances of a successful outcome, not only during the planning phases, but at any stage throughout the treatment process.

Initial Consultation and Assessment

The initial consultations involve contacting a professional at Reflection Family Interventions. This consultation includes a confidential call and contact information, a professional assessment of the situation, and time to evaluate eligibility and personal needs for you, your family, and your loved one.

Intervention Planning and Preparation

You don’t just jump into an intervention, it takes careful planning and time to ensure it’s safe and effective. This includes time for strategy development alongside professional and family education, ensuring that each person is approaching the situation with understanding and care.

The Intervention Experience (3 Days)

After planning, the actual intervention takes place over three days, including not only prepared statements, messaging, and goals, but also conversations that are guided and moderated by a compassionate professional. We help you navigate these challenging discussions with structured support and direction.

Placement and Care Coordination

We work with families to find the best treatment facility to meet your unique needs for detox, residential, or outpatient care, providing contact information and support throughout the admissions process. This includes referrals to appropriate treatment providers without outside influence or incentives, ensuring you have access to the best support possible.

Ongoing Coaching and Follow-Up

Interventions are just the beginning of the healing journey. We offer ongoing coaching, weekly follow-up support, and long-term guidance to navigate new milestones, accomplishments, and structure lasting success. Families always have access to effective resources.

If your loved one is struggling with substance use or mental health challenges, we’re here to help. Our team provides compassionate, professional guidance every step of the way.

When to Seek Family Intervention Services

Knowing when to pick up the phone and make that first call is difficult. Many families may be in disbelief that these challenges can hit so close to home. However, there are signs indicating that family intervention services are needed.

Warning Signs of Substance Use or Mental Health Issues

If a loved one is experiencing intense cravings for addictive substances, exhibits increasingly risky behaviors, is unable or unwilling to tend to other responsibilities like work, expresses intense mood swings, or withdraws from the family, it may be a sign of struggles with substance use or mental health needs. Calling a professional to learn and explore these signs can give you a better idea of how these challenges may be affecting daily life.

When Crisis Intervention May Be Needed

Some situations are more intense than others. If a loved one exhibits safety concerns, continues to refuse help despite mounting negative consequences, or has escalating and drastic behavior, then a crisis intervention may be needed.

When Family Dynamics Are Impacting Recovery

The family plays an important part in the process, and changes in family dynamics can also signal the need for professional outside support. This includes guidance on breaking enabling patterns and reestablishing communication after communication breakdowns.

While addiction and mental health disorders can be devastating, acting quickly when recognizing these signs can help get your family and loved one the support needed before the situation worsens, improving outcomes and unifying the family.
