About Reflection Family Interventions

Mission

Our Mission Is Simple

At Reflection Family Interventions, we believe that addiction and mental health challenges are not just individual struggles but family experiences. Founded on the principles of compassion, education, and long-term family healing, we are dedicated to supporting families as they navigate the complexities of addiction, mental health crises, and recovery.

Our mission is simple: to provide families with the knowledge, tools, and guidance they need to break free from destructive patterns and rebuild healthy, supportive relationships. We know firsthand the devastating impact addiction and untreated mental health conditions can have on a family. That’s why we take a family-centered approach, ensuring that every member of the household is equipped to support healing—not just for their struggling loved one, but for themselves as well.

Who We Are

Our Story

Reflection Family Interventions is a family-owned and operated company dedicated to helping families navigate the most difficult crossroads of mental health and addiction. Founded on the belief that no family should ever have to face these challenges alone, Reflection provides comprehensive intervention services, long-term family recovery coaching, and compassionate guidance rooted in clinical best practices. Unlike many intervention providers, we are fully independent of treatment centers. This allows us to design truly personalized approaches based on each family’s needs, not on the availability or financial incentives of a facility.

At Reflection, we understand that addiction and mental health disorders do not affect individuals in isolation—they reverberate throughout entire family systems. Parents, siblings, spouses, and children often carry invisible wounds of worry, fear, guilt, and exhaustion. That is why our mission is twofold: to help loved ones access the professional care they need while also equipping families with the tools, boundaries, and support necessary to heal in their own right. Every service we provide is anchored in the belief that family recovery is not secondary to individual recovery—it is essential.

What Sets Us Apart?

01

A Family-Owned and Operated Organization

We are not just interventionists—we are a family. We understand the fears, frustrations, and emotional toll that come with loving someone who struggles with addiction or mental health challenges. This personal connection drives our commitment to every family we work with, ensuring genuine support, empathy, and unwavering dedication to your family’s healing journey.

02

Beyond the Intervention: A Holistic, Long-Term Approach

Unlike many intervention services that focus solely on getting a loved one into treatment, we go deeper. We recognize that true recovery is a family process, and healing extends far beyond the intervention itself. Our structured coaching and education model helps families develop healthy boundaries, effective communication strategies, and long-term resilience.

03

Decades of Combined Experience

Our team is made up of professional interventionists, recovery coaches, and mental health specialists with years of hands-on experience in addiction treatment, family systems, and crisis intervention. We bring both personal insight and professional expertise to every family we serve.

04

A Commitment to Ethical, Compassionate Care

Interventions are delicate, emotional experiences, and we take great care to approach every family’s situation with respect, dignity, and compassion. Our methods are never aggressive or coercive. Instead, we focus on education, understanding, and support, empowering families to make informed decisions that foster lasting change.

05

Family-Friendly Pricing

We believe that financial barriers should never prevent a family from accessing the help they need. That’s why we offer transparent, family-friendly pricing, making high-quality intervention and recovery support accessible to more families.

About Our Founders

Reflection Family Interventions was founded by Andrew and Shahar Engbring, a husband-and-wife team with deep roots in the behavioral health field.

From Industry Leadership to Innovation

Before creating Reflection, both Andrew and Shahar spent years serving in clinical, leadership, and executive roles across the mental health and substance use treatment industry. They worked inside some of the most respected organizations in the field, witnessing firsthand both the successes and the shortcomings of how families were included in treatment.

Time and again, they were disappointed to see families offered little more than brief psychoeducation sessions and instructions to attend Al-Anon. While those supports have value, Andrew and Shahar knew from their professional and personal experience that families deserved—and needed—more. Families were being left behind, despite being the ones who often carried the weight of their loved one’s illness, and were rarely given tools beyond “wait and hope.”

Ultimately, Andrew and Shahar made the decision to retire from their executive positions to pursue a vision that the industry had not yet embraced: a model that treats the family as the client, offers long-term recovery coaching, and professionally reintegrates loved ones back into their family system after treatment.

A Personal Mission

For Shahar, this work is deeply personal. Her own family was devastated by addiction and the tragic overdose death of a loved one. Stigma and silence prevented her family from talking openly about the problem or finding help. That lived experience gave her a conviction to break down stigma, speak boldly, and ensure no family feels as isolated as hers once did.

Together, Andrew and Shahar pioneered Reflection’s family-reintegration model, creating a pathway for families to heal alongside their loved one rather than waiting passively for change. In their very first year, Reflection’s outcomes demonstrated the power of this approach: more than 90% of families they worked with had a loved one still sober six months after intervention.
