Eugene Interventionist

Leading Intervention Team Serving Eugene, Oregon: Helping Families Break the Cycle of Addiction & Mental Health Struggles

Eugene, Oregon, is known for its vibrant arts scene, strong sense of community, and deep-rooted culture of individualism. But like many cities in the Pacific Northwest, it is also facing a growing crisis in addiction and mental health. The opioid epidemic, rising fentanyl use, and increasing rates of alcohol dependency have left many families searching for real solutions. Compounding the issue, Eugene has seen a surge in co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety, that often go untreated due to a lack of accessible services.

Despite Oregon’s move to decriminalize small amounts of drugs, the reality is that without more comprehensive addiction treatment resources, many people are left struggling with no clear path to recovery. Families are often forced to wait for their loved one to recognize they need help, waiting that can be dangerous, even deadly. Professional intervention services provide a way forward, offering families the structure and support they need to guide their loved one toward treatment.

Barriers to Treatment in Eugene & How Families Can Take Action

While Eugene is home to various addiction treatment facilities, waitlists are long, and financial barriers often prevent immediate access to care. The city’s housing crisis and high rates of homelessness further complicate the recovery process, as many people battling addiction also face unstable living conditions that make it even harder to seek help. Families who want to support their loved one are often met with frustration, uncertain of how to navigate a system that seems unprepared for the overwhelming demand.

Another challenge is the stigma surrounding addiction. Eugene’s strong culture of self-sufficiency can make individuals hesitant to admit they need help. Many people battling substance use disorders insist they can manage it on their own, unaware of how deeply their addiction is impacting their health, relationships, and future. Families often struggle to know when to intervene, fearing they will push their loved one away. The truth is, waiting rarely works, action is needed.

How to Help a Loved One Accept Treatment

It’s painful to watch a loved one struggle with addiction, especially when they refuse to acknowledge the problem. Families in Eugene often face resistance when trying to talk about treatment, but there are ways to approach these conversations effectively.

Remain calm and compassionate

Blame and anger often lead to defensiveness. Focus on expressing concern and love instead of accusations.

Avoid enabling behaviors

Financial support, covering up consequences, or making excuses for a loved one’s addiction only prolongs the problem. Setting boundaries is critical.

Seek professional intervention services

When a loved one refuses treatment, working with an experienced interventionist can provide the structure and guidance needed to break through denial.

A well-structured intervention increases the likelihood that a loved one will agree to treatment. Families don’t have to wait for rock bottom, intervention can happen now.

The Power of a Professional Intervention

Many families in Eugene try multiple times to convince their loved one to get help, only to be met with resistance, empty promises, or temporary attempts at sobriety. A professional interventionist removes the emotional burden from the family, providing a structured and effective approach that significantly improves the chances of treatment acceptance.

Interventions are not about forcing someone into rehab, they are about helping families change the patterns that enable addiction. Reflection Family Interventions works with families to:

Develop a compassionate yet firm intervention plan

Address denial and resistance effectively

Establish healthy boundaries and family accountability

Connect the individual to the right treatment program

Support the family’s long-term healing and recovery

The intervention process empowers families to take back control and guide their loved one toward lasting change.

Taking the First Step: Finding Hope in Eugene

Addiction and untreated mental health disorders can feel overwhelming, but families in Eugene are not alone. With the right support, healing is possible. Professional intervention services provide a way to bridge the gap between addiction and recovery, offering families a real chance at helping their loved one before it’s too late.

If you are watching someone you love struggle, don’t wait for things to get worse. Intervention can be the turning point that changes everything. Take the first step today, help is available, and recovery starts with action.

Drew and Shahar are so very patient and enormously kind. More than that, they are experts in the fields of treatment and professional intervention for a wide range of substance use and other addictions. I couldn’t recommend them more enthusiastically.

Our family had only hours to take action and help our loved one make the right decision for longer term care, and we could not have done it without the guidance and care of Reflection Family Interventions. Within hours, Shahar knew our entire story, had devised a full plan, and coordinated an interventionist flying in the following morning to learn about our story, our loved one’s struggles, and how to best approach things. Within the first few days, we knew we had made the right choice with Reflection. Now, after 6 months, we don’t know where we’d be without them. For anyone who’s been through this experience, there are a lot of ups and downs. Having Andrew and his team by our side throughout this entire process is what has kept us sane and constantly learning how to grow and improve ourselves. Behind their expertise, Andrew, Shahar, and the rest of the team simply bring such a great personal touch that makes them feel like part of the family. We cannot recommend them enough!

We’ve only been working with Reflections Family Interventions for about a week so far, but the impact has already been profound. From our very first conversation, I felt supported, understood, and guided through THE most emotionally overwhelming situation of my life. Their team helped us carry out an intervention that know we could not have done on our own. They were clear, compassionate, and deeply experienced — helping us prepare every detail while also preparing us emotionally for the moment. Even more importantly, they’ve continued to be there after the intervention, offering steady support and reassurance during the incredibly fragile days that followed. When my son was in crisis and I was flooded with fear and guilt, they took my calls and responded to my texts without hesitation — grounding me when I felt like I might fall apart. They helped me stay strong in moments when I would have otherwise caved, and reminded me of why boundaries are an act of love. That kind of support is priceless. I know we still have a long road ahead and several more months of support with them, but even this early on, I can say that Reflections Family Interventions has already changed the trajectory of our story. If you are feeling lost, scared, or unsure of what to do next — this is the team you want in your corner.

Without Andrew's team of experienced interventionists ( shout out to Tiffany) we would not have managed to get our son the help that he so desperately needs. Reflection takes a comprehensive approach, treating the patient and supporting the whole family so that all learn a new healthy way to function. We are very thankful.

My family found Reflections to help me go to treatment. With the help of Andrew, Shahar, and my interventionist, Eric, I can truly share gratitude for the time/effort this group put towards my recovery and my family’s healing. With weekly family meetings (with my family while I was in treatment—and all of us after), Andrew was able to help us redefine our family dynamic and rebuild individual relationships. Each phase of this process serves an intentional purpose (planning, intervention, treatment, family mediation, aftercare). And, of course, a special shoutout to Eric who was able to understand/address my family while we were in one of the darkest, most broken places. I can’t describe my appreciation for Reflections (and Eric) whom had a solid plan to get me to treatment whether it was going to take 20-minutes or 4 days. Much gratitude

We did not know where to turn to get the necessary help for our family member who was desperately in need of treatment. We were told about Reflection Family Intervention and called them right away. We spent hours talking with Shahar about the situation and explaining the importance that we needed to get help ASAP. She was a very intent listener and took notes on what we told her. We hired them and immediately we had the intention specialist come. Every step is very well thought through before moving forward. They provided us booklets of information to assist us with the process not only for the family members but steps to help our loved one. They don’t overload you with information but give you the information that you need when you need it. That was so helpful because you are overwhelmed as it is just trying to get help for your loved one. Andrew and Shahar are both very supportive, caring, helpful people that have lots of contacts all over the country and are a wealth of resources for every situation. Could not have gotten to this place without your assistance, support and direction. Thank you both!! Debbie Sattler

I simply cannot praise Drew and Shahar enough. When I needed help for a family members addiction, I had no idea where to turn, after calling multiple Intervention companies and Interventionists I found reflection and instantly felt like family. Their professionalism and compassion was unmatched in my search. They also have the most comprehensive family aftercare I could find, and continued to guide my family for six months after our successful intervention. It was scary at first, now I can’t imagine what I would have done without them.
